Nicole Springle is a Registered Dietitian who holds both a Bachelor of Honours Degree and a Masters in Applied Nutrition from the University of Guelph. Nicole has provided nutrition support to Canada’s developing and podium-level athletes for the past 8 years. In her role as Lead, Sport Nutrition, Nicole oversees nutrition services for all of the CSIO’s national and provincial partnered sport organizations while providing targeted nutrition support for swimming, figure skating, wheelchair basketball, and beach volleyball. Most recently she attended the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio De Janeiro to provide on-site nutrition support to Volleyball Canada athletes competing at the games.
As a recognized leader in sport nutrition, Nicole has held the position of Nutrition Lead for Own the Podium’s National Sport Science and Medicine Advisory Committee and has also acted as co-chair for the Dietitians of Canada Sport Nutrition Network, representing over 300 dietitians across Canada. She is a seasoned presenter and has authored numerous articles for magazines, newspapers, and textbooks. In addition, she has shared her expertise and enthusiasm for performance nutrition and optimal health as an educator in post-secondary institutions and conferences as well as for numerous media outlets including Breakfast Television, Global News, and City TV News.
