Update from Poland: Mandy Bujold

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

Hello Everyone,

Just a quick update on the event happening here in Warsaw, Poland. The Feliks Stamm Memorial kicked off today with bouts at both 1pm and 5pm.

The tournament has doubled in competitors in the women’s weight categories, since it’s induction in the event last year. 51kg has a full division with 16 boxers from all over the world.

My first bout already took place this afternoon at 1pm against Aziza Abbasova of Azerbaijan. I was the first Canadian to take the ring as I was the second bout on the afternoon show. I was able to take control of the bout from the first round scoring a 4-1 rd over Aziza. I continued to increase my lead each round with a final score of 18-6.

Although we only arrived here in Warsaw yesterday I felt great in the ring today. My next bout is Tomorrow afternoon at 11am against Lydia Boussaida of France.

Also competing today from Canada will be Brody Blair 75kg (NS) and Arthur Binwoksi 64kg (ON). Mary Spencer 75kg received a bye and will be boxing tomorrow.

Updates to follow

Thanks,
Mandy Bujold
