LAUSANNE, Switzerland – Kayla Sanchez from Swimming Canada’s High Performance Centre-Ontario, continued her European rampage this week with a five medal performance at the Lausanne Cup short course meet which ended Friday.

Sanchez collected two gold medals, two silver and a bronze in addition to a national record to lead a 16-medal Canadian bonanza. She won five gold medals on the weekend at the English Nationals in Sheffield.

The 17-year-old posted wins in the 100-m individual medley (57.80) and 100-m freestyle (51.68), silver in the 50-m freestyle (24.20) and 200-m freestyle (1:52.59) and bronze in the 50-m breaststroke (31.46). Her time in the 100-m free was a Canadian short course record and a meet record.
