Day 3 from Poland: Mandy Bujold

Hello Everyone,

Update from day 3 at the Feliks Stamm Memorial tournament in Warsaw, Poland.

This afternoon I fought in the semi-finals against Lisa Whiteside of England. It was a very good bout and I knew Lisa was going to be a very tough opponent as she won a bronze medal at 57kg at the World Championships in China last year.
We had a great game plan going into this bout and it worked perfectly. I was able to out-box Lisa using my speed and my movement to come out with a 17-12 victory!
I was able to win each round including the last round, even though the referee awarded 2 points to my opponent after a warning. I was able to stay in control and do exactly what I needed to do to win.

In the other semi-final bout Zhaina Shekerbekova of Kazakhstan faced Sandra Drabik of Poland. This was a competitive fight but the stronger southpaw from Kazakhstan took the win 15-14.

The finals are set for tomorrow evening at 8pm (2pm Kitchener). I will be facing Zhaina of Kazakhstan for the Gold medal. The bouts are going to take place in the biggest stadium in Warsaw and they are expecting to have a big crowd out to watch. My teammate Mary Spencer is in the semi-finals tonight at 5pm against Marina Volnova of Kazakhstan.
