Biography: 

Recognizing his passion for sport, Murray enrolled into the Kinesiology program at the University of Western Ontario and later obtained his degree with Honours Specialization in Kinesiology. 

Murray has experience in the Canadian High Performance system as an athlete, coach and technical leader. During his undergraduate studies Murray was a member of the Canadian Sailing Team and has competed at several international and World Cup events. Following his athletic career, Murray transitioned to the role of High Performance Coach with Ontario Sailing from 2009-2015. During this term Murray worked as the lead manager for sailing’s involvement in the OHPSI program lead by the Canadian Sport Institute Ontario, and was a key member in developing a high performance plan which transitioned several athletes from the Provincial to National team and furthermore onto National and International Podiums. 

In 2015, Murray joined Wheelchair Basketball Canada as a High Performance Coordinator, working closely with Michael Frogley at the National Training Academy based at the Toronto Pan Am Sports Centre in Toronto, Ontario.  In this role, Murray managed and coordinated domestic and international logistics and operations for the National Academy, Senior Men’s and Women’s and Junior Men’s and Women’s National programs. Murray had the pleasure of acting as the Team Manager for the Men’s and Women’s Paralympic teams during the 2016 Rio Paralympic Games.
